The Situation

The historic Chestnut Inn at Oquaga Lake had been one of upstate New York’s premier destinations since 1928. In 2006, the owners began major renovations. They expanded and combined the 32 rooms into 17 more spacious, luxury rooms with modern amenities and classic, elegant décor. The Inn also began a rebranding effort.

The Strategy

The exceptional Chestnut Inn brand experience had to begin online. Chestnut Inn’s website needed a major overhaul so it could more effectively communicate the hotel’s position as a luxurious destination for travelers seeking elegance and simplicity.

The Solution

The goal was to create a web presence that captured both the history and luxury of the property. Creating Results worked with the client to identify which offerings were currently the strongest and which lines of revenue they hoped to increase.

Armed with this knowledge of their business objectives, we structured the site to more effectively promote their weddings and events (meetings and retreats) packages. A higher emphasis was placed on the restaurant, which serves a year-round local clientele.

Finally, spotlights on seasonal deals were built into every page and an online reservation system was integrated into the site, making booking a room easy to do from any point in the website.

The design team drew inspiration from the hotel’s new logo and professional photography provided by the client.

The new website showcases hotel improvements and amenities through lovely photography, elevating the visitor's experience and offering easy, integrated online reservations.
The design effectively positions the hotel as “a simple elegance property,” said the former General Manager. Front desk staffers reported rave reviews from hotel guests.
