Beth Mickey Earns Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist Educational Designation

Beth Mickey of Creating Results is now a member of a select group of professionals nationwide who have earned the Certified Aging-in-Place (CAPS) designation. The CAPS designation indicates that Mickey, who is a Senior Client Services Director, has obtained the skills and knowledge necessary to remodel or modify a living space to meet the unique needs of the older population, disabled owners or their visitors.

The National Association of Home Builders, in partnership with the AARP and NAHB Research Center, created the CAPS program, which includes training and education on the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to compete in the fastest-growing segment of the residential remodeling industry — home modifications for aging in place.

As a Senior Client Services Director at Creating Results, Mickey has more than 15 years of marketing experience and has delighted numerous clients in the active adult 0homebuilding and senior living industries. Clients that Mickey has worked with include:

  • Traditions of America
  • The Philadelphia Protestant Home
  • Sunnyside Communities
  • Vinson Hall Retirement Community
  • Sun Health Senior Living
  • The Artery Group

  • Liberty Senior Living
  • Beazer Homes
  • The Classic Group
  • K. Hovnanian Homes
  • Orion Residential

Years of experience in the industry have given her a deeper understanding of clients’ needs and goals, as well as insights she uses to develop integrated marketing plans and strategies to achieve those goals.

CAPS graduates included remodelers, builders, designers, architects, occupational therapists and others who help homeowners remain in their homes safely, independently and comfortably as they age. In three days of coursework, the CAPS curriculum incorporates market demographics, communication techniques, marketing, common barriers and solutions, building codes and standards, product ideas and resources and business management.

CAPS program graduates are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and/or participating in community service projects.

“I look forward to advising clients and helping them make the necessary adjustments that will enable them to build homes that are suitable for the unique needs of the older population,” said Mickey. “The CAPS program has been a great experience and I’m excited to apply my new learnings to improve the quality of life for older adults.”
