Remembering the Cost of Freedom

As the long weekend comes to its end, it’s important that we all take some time to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day.

This is a day for honoring and remembering those who have lost their lives fighting to protect our country’s freedom. It’s a yearly reminder about the cost countless men and women have paid to uphold the American way – after all, “freedom isn’t free.”

Without these selfless heroes, the American Dream – life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness – would not have endured after all these years.

Commemorating the Ultimate Sacrifice

However you decide to spend your Memorial Day – be it at a barbecue with friends and family or by simply raising your flag in remembrance – take a few moments to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

As you enjoy the rest of your Memorial Day, we’ll leave you with this quote from Abraham Lincoln:

“From these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion – that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain – that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom – and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth..”
